I have added 1 new BOINC project(s):
NOTE: I received the translation. -- Siran
Friday, December 19, 2008:
I have added 4 new BOINC projects:
Tuesday, November 11, 2008:
I have uploaded the latest Windows version of the BOINC Manager to the downloads section and updated the download page accordingly. All other platform versions remain the same, there were no updates. I still have not figured out how to get the Linux versions to download without generating a server error. I will continue to work on it. -- Siran
Monday, September 29, 2008:
I have fixed a problem I discovered with this website in Internet Explorer. The previous menu system did not fair well in I.E. The sub menus would move down and not be in line with the parent menu item. Also, the long menus would be cut short. I.E. users would not be able to select the lowest menu items because they were not there. I have built a new menu system and it works properly in I.E. I also added a "Status Legend" under the menu for the "Projects" menu item. -- Siran
Tuesday, August 12, 2008:
I have added another new BOINC project, EDGeS Local Test Boinc Server. I have no idea what this new project does, exactly. I would assume that they are a test project, but that could be a temporary name they gave themselves. They are in the Pre-Alpha phase. -- Siran
Saturday, July 26, 2008:
I have added another new BOINC project, Genetic Life. "Genetic Life is a not-for-profit research project that uses Internet-connected computers to do research into Genetic Algorithms." They are in the Alpha phase. -- Siran
Friday, July 25, 2008:
I have added another new BOINC project, AlmereGrid. Well, actually I believe it is a new version of an old defunct project. This is what they say: "Dit is de nieuwe, definitieve, versie van BOINC voor AlmereGrid. De komende dagen wordt er nog een en ander aan toegevoegd." They are in the Pre-Alpha phase. -- Siran
ADDENDUM: All external off-site links will now open a new tab/window. Pages of this site will open in this tab/window. This allows continued use of my website while visiting one linked from it. -- Siran
ADDENDUM 2: I was indeed correct in my assumption that AlmereGrid was a defunct project from the past. On August 29, 2006 I made an entry in my notes, on the website, that I was hiding the project from the menu because of its unknown status. -- Siran
Monday, July 21, 2008:
I have added another new BOINC project, Ramsey@Home. "Ramsey@Home is a distributed computing project designed to find new lower bounds for various Ramsey Numbers using a host of different techniques." They are in the Pre-Alpha phase. -- Siran
ADDENDUM: While my first discovery led me to believe that Ramsey@Home was in Pre-Alpha phase, I discovered later that the project is in fact in Alpha phase. My apologies for this deception. -- Siran
Monday, July 14, 2008:
I have added another new BOINC project, Magnetism@Home. "Magnetism@home is a research project that uses Internet-connected computers to explore the equlibrium, metastable and transient magnetization patterns (first and foremost in nano-scale magnetic elements and their arrays, but later other systems may be considered)." They are in the Pre-Alpha phase. -- Siran
Sunday, July 13, 2008:
Yeah, yeah, yeah! Ok, you caught me. I went and did another color scheme change to the website again. Well, I have another on this same web space and I liked the way it looked so much, I decided to make this one look similar. I never was one for brightly colored websites. They're just a bit hard on the old eyes after a while. Please, enjoy the new look! -- Siran
Friday, July 11, 2008:
Upon stumbling around on the Internet today, I happened upon another BOINC project. I haven't a clue what this project is all about. They are in the Pre-Alpha phase. -- Siran
Friday, July 4, 2008:
Greetings! And happy Independance Day to the US!
I have added another new BOINC project to this site. It is Computational Structural Biology. "Research in our laboratory seeks to fuse computational and experimental efforts to investigate proteins, the fundamental molecules of biology, and their interactions with small molecule substrates, therapeutics, or probes." They are in Pre-Alpha phase, although their main page news says they are close to production phase. The project is barely a month old so I conclude they mean they are about to go public and not production. They need to go through Alpha and Beta phases before Production phase is achieved. -- Siran
Tuesday, June 24, 2008:
Another new BOINC project has been added. It is project IBERCIVIS. They are in Alpha phase and as far as their status is, it is unknown at this time. It is also unknown what the project will be doing as well. Most of what I saw, when I was on their website, is that most of it is in Spanish. -- Siran
Sunday, June 22, 2008:
I discovered a problem with the guestbook CGI. For whatever reason, it quit writing linefeeds to the text files it writes various information to. I have fixed that problem and re-enabled the guestbook entry.
I have also been optimizing the code, making the files smaller and able to still do their job. In doing one of these, I inadvertantly added a certain measure of added security to the website. Added security is always a good thing. Enjoy! -- Siran
ADDENDUM: I have enhanced the E-Mail system of the website. It now has better error handling and logging capabilities. It is also a system of my own creation. It is also secure in that my e-mail address cannot be farmed from the website now. -- Siran
Sunday, June 8, 2008:
I re-enabled some of the downloads again. This means I am back to square 1 again too. For some unknown reason, to me at this time anyway, the 2 Linux versions of the BOINC Manager will not download. I continually get a server error in my tests. Since I have been getting into Linux I believe that the server seems to think that since the files are Linux I want to do something other than download them. I do not remember this problem before. Until such time that I can figure out this problem, Linux users will need to go to Berkeley's BOINC website for the Linux versions. -- Siran
Saturday, May 31, 2008:
Looks like I'm on a roll with working on the website again. Today I added a back button,
, to each of my sub web pages. I believe it to be a bit easier for navigating now. I even have one in a CGI created page. Ok, let's see what else I can think of to improve the site. Until my next report, enjoy. -- Siran
Friday, May 30, 2008:
After converting this main page to XHTML 10 days ago, I finally got around to converting the rest of the website pages. I started yesterday and finished this morning. Well, I'm not quite finished.
My download page is giving me problems because of a Java script that is hardly doing it's job now. As is, it works just fine and as designed in my HTML code. After converting the page to XHTML, the script quits working..., completely. That, and not to mention that I still haven't figured out the download problem I am having too. I will need to spend a great deal of time trying to figure this out. Why most scripts work fine in XHTML and others don't is mysterious, to say the least.
I also updated some links and added/deleted some BOINC projects too. And, I also came up with an idea that I will be setting into motion within the next few days. There will be a noticable minor change to the menu items, one specifically. It will be a surprise. I really don't know why I didn't think of it sooner. Oh well, until then, enjoy! -- Siran
ADDENDUM: I have added a dedication page for our friend Dennis "Dogbytes" Peters. Enjoy! -- Siran
Tuesday, May 20, 2008:
I have successfully converted this main page of my BOINC website to XHTML. I learned that HTML 4.01 is the last update of HTML, HTML will become obsolete. XHTML is the next best thing. The conversion was virtually painless since most of my HTML code was already compliant with XHTML rules. Watch for further updates, I need to convert all my sub-pages as well. Until my next report, enjoy. -- Siran
Wednesday, April 16, 2008:
I have done some more optimizing of the website. I did some work on the CSS file to optimize it and to make some minor changes to all the pages of the website. I also re-enabled the guestbook entry. I have added some more security features to it that I believe will help stave off the spammers. Until my next report, enjoy. -- Siran
Tuesday, April 15, 2008:
If you go through the various web pages on this site you may notice some changes. I went through and made then all uniform. The sub pages now look as though they belong to the main page. They have the same basic layout as the main page does. You may have also noticed that I have linked to several more BOINC project websites. Enjoy -- Siran

Registration Now Open
Submitted by tricaric on Tue, 03/04/2008 - 01:07.
As anticipated, we're now opening orbit@home for registration. The master URL for the BOINC section of orbit@home is: http://orbit.psi.edu/oah/
NOTE: Their home page is their news/server status/news comment/more information page. The Orbit@Home BOINC site has no news, but a link to the home page. -- Siran
Sunday, February 03, 2008:
I have added 4 more projects to the website list: DECS, Artificial Intelligence System, ESEA@Home and MindModeling@Home. I believe I need to look some more because I believe there are more out there, more BOINC projects that I don't have listed. I will endeavor to bring them to this website. -- Siran
Saturday, February 02, 2008:
As you may have noticed, I did very little with this website, up front. In other words, I left very few messages on the front page here. I found that I have so much going on now that my time is limited on what I can do here.
I have made changes to this website. I have eliminated my news pages. I no longer have time to continually update them as I did in the past. There are just too many BOINC projects for me to allocate the time to them. I decided to maintain the website as a link site with the features I have added in the past.
I will add new BOINC project website links as I am notified of them. I have a way of being notified when a new one starts. I will periodically check to make sure that all the project links are still live links.
I hope that you will still find this website useful and still visit from time to time. Thank you for your visits in the past. -- Siran

A moment of silence for those heroes and victims of 9/11.... We will always remember!
I have added 2 new BOINC projects: pPotTables and Reversi. pPot Tables is computing relative handstrength and 1-card lookahead positive potential for all possible flop, turn and hole card combinations for 2 to 10 players in Texas Hold'em. Reversi is a project that uses Internet-connected computers to find out Ultra-weak solution. They are in the Pre-Alpha phase. -- Siran
