Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations
IDIC - Kol-Ut-Shan
Infinite:
Without boundaries or limits.

It is not logical to assume that everything in this universe is infinite. In fact it is quite the opposite. The universe is quite finite. Although, from the perspective of our infinitesimally small minds, the universe is indeed infinite. Therefore, everything else must then be infinite as well, from our perspective.

Diversity:
Acceptance and respect are the encompassing concepts of diversity.

Acceptance: A belief in something or someone. One must be able to accept that which someone else may deem unacceptable as long as that acceptance does not go against one's moral fiber.

Respect: The state of being regarded with honor and esteem. One must be honorable in all things. One who is regarded with great honor is said to be of high esteem.

Understanding that each individual is unique in and of itself.

Understanding: The cognitive condition of someone who understands. One must understand that not all individuals are the same. Each individual is unique in their own special way.

Recognition of those individual differences.

Recognition: The process of recognizing something or someone by remembering. One must remember that no one else will be exactly like they are, there will always be differences between all.

Understanding each other and moving beyond simple intolerance.

Intolerance: Unwillingness to recognize and respect differences in opinions or beliefs. Not everyone holds to the same opinions and beliefs as the other would. One must recognize and understand this and not show intolerance to others.

Embracing and celebrating the many dimensions of diversity.

One must realize, recognize and understand that there are many dimensions of diversity. These many dimensions need to be embraced and celebrated. Without the varied dimensions of diversity, the universe would be a most boring place to exist.

In Infinite

Combinations:
An alliance of individuals, corporations, or states united to achieve a social, political, or economic end.

Together, gathered into one unified community, to achieve a unified goal.

Surak is the father of the modern Vulcan culture and society. His philosophies shaped the Vulcan people into what they are today. Without Surak, Vulcans would be a barbaric war-like race as they were thousands of years ago. IDIC was created by Surak.

There is a symbol for IDIC. It is a tilted, elongated triangle with a large circle behind it and a smaller one behind the peak of the triangle. It is said that the triangle represents Mount Seleya and the circle represents the Vulcan sun, 40-Eridani A. The IDIC symbol has become somewhat of an award of merit. It is given in pin form and is worn on the uniform of Vulcans and others who subscribe to IDIC.
