STARFLEET Security Protocols

Protocol 01:
The safety of the starship must be the commanding officer's first priority.

Subsection A: The Commanding Officer will not take any action to endanger the ship unless:

1: In Defending innocent lives
2: In a time of War while engaging with the enemy

Protocol 02:
The Commanding Officer is responsible for the safety of the crew.

Protocol 03:
The Commanding Officer shall not let his/her Federation starship fall into enemy hands. Two senior staff officers shall initiate the self-destruct sequence with the CO or other senior staff, if self-destruction is deemed the only alternative.

Subsection A: When initiating the self-destruct, two senior staff or higher officers must approve the destruction of a Federation starship.

1: Three senior officers shall be required to initiate self-destruct
a) The CO's command code is primary. If the CO is killed, or otherwise incapable of command, the XO's command code becomes primary.
2: Two senior officers are required to end the self-destruct sequence

Protocol 04:
No technology of STARFLEET or The Federation shall be shared with other races. (Please refer to the Prime Directive)

Protocol 05:
All unknown technology discovered by any STARFLEET Officer must be reported to STARFLEET Command within 6 hours.

Protocol 06:
Any use of a STARFLEET Runabout must be approved by the Commanding Officer.

Protocol 07:
All STARFLEET personnel must file a report after any away mission. The Senior Staff will meet with the Commanding Officer for a debriefing.

Protocol 08:
Any Federation starship leaving space dock, shall use thrusters only.

Protocol 28:
The safety and security of STARFLEET Command and the Federation is the responsibility of all STARFLEET personnel.

Subsection A: No classified information or technology will be exchanged for a prisoner.

Subsection B: In the event of captured STARFLEET personnel, the Federation and STARFLEET shall not furnish any classified information that could endanger the safety and security of the United Federation of Planets and STARFLEET and its allies.

Subsection C: In the event of a hostile alien takeover the Commanding Officer or senior most officer will lock out all command codes in the event that the self-destruct is not activated.

Subsection D: In the event of hostile alien takeover the EMH is to deactivate and wait for rescue.
